Graduation and moving on

毕业并继续前进

At least once a year, there are a lot of graduations.

至少每年一次,会有很多的毕业典礼。

It’s a time when a lot of people move on,

这是一个很多人继续前进的时刻，

from where they were, to another school or another class,

从那里的人们会到另一个学校或另一个班级，

or out into a real world.

或者到了一个真实的世界。

To graduate means to take a step forward, to move onward.

毕业意味着向前迈进一步，已经上路了。

I can remember my high school graduation,

我还记得我的高中毕业，

my graduation from university,

我大学毕业，

and even my graduation from graduated school.

甚至从我研究生院毕业。

Each of those graduations was nice.

I took pictures, I got flowers, I hug my parents.

I had the motions to moving on, I want to stay and have more fun.

When we hear the word graduation, we naturally think of graduating from school.

But I think it’s possible to graduate from different places, or stages in life.

I worked in a company in New York for about three years.

凌晨点左右，父亲母亲就准备把满满的一车白菜拉到街道菜市场上去卖。“留两个娃在家里不放心。”母亲说道。迷迷糊糊还在睡梦中的我，被他们的对话吵醒了。揉揉双眼看着窗外，洁白的雪花簌簌地使劲下着，将黑夜染成了白色。我实在太困，把厚厚的被子裹得更紧，又倒头睡了。

“两个都叫起来，把娃带着去!”父亲低沉有力，温暖的声音，支使母亲喊我和弟弟起床。父亲催促着母亲：“时间来不及了，迟了就没大菜贩子了!”母亲为难地但又比先前更加着急了，声音变得厉害起来：“快起来，你俩，看都几点了?”母亲嘟囔着，但又不忍心喊醒我们兄妹俩。

一瞬间，我睡意全无，穿好厚厚的棉袄棉裤，跳下床，用手指捏着弟弟的鼻子：“快起来，快起来!我们待会就有好吃的可以吃了!”听到这儿，淘气的弟弟像打了鸡血似的嗖的一下爬起来，一边揉惺忪的眼睛，一边问：“姐，什么好吃的?”一边焦急的父亲大声喊道：“快穿衣服，就想着吃，菜卖了就给你买好吃的!”弟弟冲我吐吐舌头，扮了个鬼脸，穿好衣服，脸都没洗，兴奋地和我们出发了。

冬季飘雪的零晨萧瑟而又寂静。走在去菜市场的路上，踩着厚厚的雪，咯吱咯吱作响，成了这黑夜一曲跳动的音符。父亲拉着满满一车白菜，用尽全身的力气将重量转移到自己身上，生怕母亲那边太重，而一旁的母亲用绳在旁边为父亲拉着，她用尽全身的力气想把这千金的重量为自己转移一半，减轻父亲的负担。弟弟太小，父亲母亲不放心，就让他坐在了车子上，我和母亲为父亲拉着。就这样踉踉跄跄艰难地一步一步走向菜市场。

突然，扑通一声，父亲摔倒了，母亲赶忙蹲下身子去扶父亲。由于路太滑，母亲也摔倒在雪地上，看着他们艰难地爬起来，相互问对方有事没事，我难受极了，顺口就说了一句，值得吗?父亲说道：“没有啥值与不值，都走到半路上了，就要坚持下去。”冬日飘雪的黑夜让原本走50分钟的路程，今晚却变成了3个小时。路途中父亲母亲的头发、衣服竟然被汗水浸湿而结冰了。时间一分一秒的过去，菜市场里讨价还价声渐渐变得清晰起来，离我们越来越近，弟弟大喊，到了到了，终于到了……

“你去看哪块有空地方，看到后就来给我说，咱就把车子放那里!”父亲催促着母亲。母亲顾不得休息一会儿，慢慢地消失在人群里。不一会儿母亲走过来了，依然为父亲拉着车放到固定的位置。就在这时，三五个小菜贩子就靠近了架子车，一只手拿着电筒照着笼里的大白菜，一只手开始上去剥白菜的叶子，嘴里嘟囔着:“叶子咋这么多，卖多少钱?”“五毛钱，够便宜了。”“二毛钱，要了就全部装了，今天也下雪着，菜贩子本来就少，我给你的都是高价钱，要是一会没菜贩子了，你这菜也就剩下了。”“就按三毛，不能再少了，我这菜都是精装菜，没有一个坏的，要了，我就给你装袋子了。”“行吧行吧，都不容易，就按中间的二毛五分钱装。”父母亲极不情愿地说:“行吧!就按照菜贩的要求一一装袋过称!”

结账时，菜贩子却不想给9毛钱的零钱，母亲说了半天，菜贩子依旧不愿意。接过菜贩给的那一张张已经磨旧棱角的10元钱，父亲嘴里哈着气，一遍一遍认真的数着，嘴角上扬着久违的微笑。

“这么多菜，我们冒着雪花走了三个多小时才换来60块钱，都不够你们买菜籽、育苗、种到地里、人工、买农药、施肥，浇水，盖薄膜、撤薄膜，多半年时间浪费的功夫钱，还不如菜成熟那会价钱不好直接倒地里去……”父亲看着喋喋不休发牢骚的我，神情严肃了起来，“倒了，你说的简单，这是我和你母亲下了多半年苦的劳动果实，就是卖的便宜，起码这些菜被菜贩子买了后，被人吃了，没有浪费!”听着父亲朴实而又心酸的话，我哽咽了…

父亲母亲一直以种菜为生，一直坚持着，从来没有间歇。这么多年来就是靠着他们种菜的钱一直供着我和弟弟上学。记得小时候，每逢开学，我们姐弟俩总会一大早就跑去学校看黑板上那赫赫白色粉笔字写的学费、书费价格。每逢这个时刻，母亲都会拿出“百宝箱”，一张一张地数着那旧旧的10元钱给我和弟弟。接过厚厚的一沓10元钱，我们俩异常兴奋，可那会体会不到父母亲一张一张攒钱的艰辛。如今我和弟弟都已经大学毕业，各自走进政府单位，在工作中我深深地体会到人活着的确都不容易。在现代化机械设备接踵而来使农民从土地上解放出来，国家实施各种惠农政策，大力实施乡村振兴战略的大背景下，作为新时代农民想要活的更好，活的更幸福，更应该努力奋斗!
