Describe a car journey you went on

1. How can people benefit from traveling?

Well, travelling is wonderful in many ways, and there are a lot of benefits people can have from it. First of all, travelling lets people disconnect from their regular life, relax and get new experiences. It also helps them open their eyes to how the rest of the world lives and, as a result, gain a broader worldview. While travelling, people get to know different places, get accustomed to different cultures, increase their general knowledge and make friends from all over the globe. All these things and experiences make them inspired and happy and create memories for a lifetime.

2. Do you like to travel on your own or with your family?

Well, I really enjoy travelling on my own 'cause from time to time I need a break from my family and friends. I like to feel freedom, do what I want without being judged and be flexible with time, destinations and decisions I make. Travelling alone also lets me learn more about myself and what I am capable of, overcome my fears and achieve focus of mind. What is more. it lets me learn to listen to my heart, make new friends and experience new things, choosing those people and activities I really want but not have to choose.

3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of travelling alone and travelling with friends?

I adore travelling with my family. It gives me a lot of pleasure and joy, it fills me with energy and inspiration, it makes me really happy! Travelling with family members lets me enjoy spending time with my beloved ones, experience new things together with them and create lasting memories linking our hearts, it also lets us follow our dreams together and, as a result, enhances and strengthens our family bonds.

4. Do you like to visit popular places or less-known places?

Well, I would say it depends on my travel goals. I usually opt for popular destinations when I want to get some enjoyable experience, see lots of beautiful things and attractions, make new friends with people from different countries and have a lot of entertainment and fun. But when I am really tired and dream to get away from all the noise, walk along less crowded streets and beaches, enjoy more privacy and downtime and spend all my time with people I travel with. I go to off the beaten path places and enjoy peace and quite which I lack in my daily life.

5. Do people prefer long trips or short trips?

Well, I think it depends on what they want from their trip or vacation. If they want to fully immerse in the place or places they visit, they definitely opt for longer trips. Such trips don't only let people gain more knowledge and experience but also give them more time to really unplug and refresh. What is more, they let people save money on lodging costs because the longer you stay in the hotel, the less money you pay for extra nights. But if people just want to quickly recharge the batteries and get back to routine, they choose shorter trips which are a quick way to relieve stress. This kind of trips gives people a chance to seize the moment and go on vacation whenever they want. Moreover, it takes less planning time, costs less, exposes travelers to more surroundings and makes them feel happier than on long trips because enjoyment wanes as people get accustomed to their holiday lifestyle.

6. What kind of problems do people have when traveling?

Well, first of all, these are the problems connected with safety issues, I mean being robbed in the street or having valuables stolen from the hotel room. One more common kind of problems people face is budget problems like running out of money or just not having enough money to deal with problems or mishaps. Speaking another language is also quite a big problem for the majority of travelers. And, of course, flying problems such as delayed or cancelled flights, not enough leg-room on the plane, long queues at check-in and jet-lag if people fly across the Atlantic.

7. Why are more and more young people going on long trips nowadays?

Well, I guess, first of all, because only long trips let the young to escape from the daily grind and everyday stressors and reset before returning to their normal life. One more reason why young people opt for long trips is a chance to see more places of interest and learn more about the world and themselves getting awesome and unforgettable experiences, expanding social networks and developing skills in problem-solving and creative thinking. Long journeys al youth become more independent, mature, get food for thought and have tons of stories to recall. I think these are the main things that make long trips appealing to the young.

8. Why do people need holidays?

Oh, I guess for a variety of reasons. First of all, people need rest just because they need to switch off from time to time, I mean leave their worries behind them. let off some steam and spend quality time with their families or friends. Secondly, it's really important for people to go on vacation in order to avoid monotony and prevent their mind and body from stagnating. A change from daily routine always lets people get back to work refreshed, in better form and ready to take on the world. I would also add that holidays are essential 'cause they help people broaden their horizons and memorable experiences, which lets everyone feel more fulfilled in the long run.

雅思口语话题Part3范文:historical person that you are interested

Describe a historical person that you are interested

1. How can people learn about history?

Well, in a variety of ways, I guess. For example, by attending History classes and listening to an experienced teacher who won't just retell past events making everyone fall asleep but connect those events to today placing a great emphasis on how people could learn from past mistakes and succeed in the world of tomorrow, which will hold attention during the lecture and survive in memory for years. One more fun and enriching way to learn history is visiting historical sites, memorials and museums. Such places help to bring history alive in a very specific and unique context letting people be active in their learning a construct their own knowledge of history. People can also learn about the past talking to those who lived it, I say grandparents or veterans, watch films and documentaries which depict historical events and even reading historical novels. So, there are lots of options these days indeed.

2. Will museums be replaced by technology someday?

un, it may well happen. In the grand scheme of things, society doesn't need museums, it needs mechanisms for selecting, preserving and communicating information about our past and present. Even these days a powerful website can deliver much more information than a powerful exhibition, and that gives rise to a suggestion that museums can be totally replaced by technology in the future. But I think it's a long-term perspective. Considering a short-term perspective, I think technology will replace not museums themselves but staff working in them. I am certain quite soon digital tickets will replace physical ones as well as personal digital guides will replace interpretive staff. Oh, and one more thing I can predict for the coming decades is that hand-craft will be replaced by 3D printing.

3. Are history museums useful?

Definitely, yes. They are great informal learning environments for both children and adults. They bring history to life giving people a chance to get up close to artefacts which are a kind of portals to the past. Museum exhibits always inspire interest and engage with history, especially when visitors can not only take a closer look at them but also perform different tasks with their help. Doing so helps visitors make connections between objects and specific past events. In making these connections, people are challenged and encouraged to think in new ways. To sum up, objects and interactive experiences offer countless possibilities and endless discoveries, for each museum visitor and that's why history museums which provide this unique Interactive experience are really useful.

4. Should museums be free?

Well, it's a tricky question. There is no doubt everyone should have access to cultural resources and educational opportunities museums offer. But I don't think museums should be free for everyone or all the time 'cause they need to pay the bills somehow. I mean they need money to advertise themselves and this way inform people about their exhibitions and installations. They also need financial resource to obtain and restore artefacts for museum exhibits, create engaging educational tools, personal digital guides and interactives exhibits. I don't think all this is possible without money or only with government grants. So, I would say museums can be free for students and the elderly but shouldn't be free for solvent men and tourists.

1. Do people in your country like to eat at home?

Well, I don't think it's a good idea to paint all people living in my country with the same brush as, to my mind, what they like, first of all, depends on their mood, preferences and finances. I would say many people do like to eat at home 'cause, on the one hand, it saves their time and money and, on the other hand, lets them enjoy nutritious and healthy food. What is more, it brings family together, lets people control their and avoid food poisoning. But there are various reasons for people to opt for going out too. Let's say, they don't time to cook or, what is worse, don’t know how to do it. Some people just don't like to cook for themselves or enjoy only the feeling of eating food that someone else has made. Being at a restaurant also appeals to people because it invites them to interact with others in a social way, which adds to eating occasions, making them more enjoyable.

What is homemade food is more nutritious and homemade food is more nutritious and healthy, which lets us control our weight and avoid food poisoning. One more thing that appeals to home cooking is the fact that it brings family together letting all family members enjoy both a delicious meal and communication with each other. As far as having meals at a restaurant is concerned, it makes life easier and more pleasant. People can enjoy the flexibility of choosing an eating whatever is offered on the menu. 4. Why do some people like to eat alone?

Oh, I guess they enjoy solo dining for various reasons. For some people eating alone is the only way to be totally on their own enjoying their own company as well as the peace and quiet of a nice setting. For others it's a perfect way of focusing on the dining experience taking their time to savor the food. It's also some kind of freedom for people as it gives them such benefits as ordering whatever strikes their fancy without opinions or influence from fellow diners, choosing how to spend their time while waiting for food either by reading a book or gazing the window, eating in any manner want or ordering the most expensive dish on the menu without feeling guilty.

6. Are there any disadvantages of eating outside?

Well, I think everything has both advantages and disadvantages and eating out is not an exception. The first thing that usually puts people off eating outside is that it costs a lot more than making food at home. Another unpleasant factor, to my mind, is that it can be unhealthy. I mean eating out is typically less nutritious than eating in. What is more, many restaurant meals are portioned excessively or just higher in calories, which is not under our control because of a limited ability to know food ingredients.

Describe your dream house

1. Why do people change their places of living?

Well, I guess there can be plenty of reasons for that. For example, people can do it in search of a better way of life because they find the places they live in boring and uninspiring. Or there can be too many bad memories attached to their place of living connected with somebody's divorce or death, which pushes people to move to a different house or apartment. Sometimes people change their place of living for a better employment moving from the rural area to the city or from a small town to the capital. In terrible cases people can do it for safety reasons trying to escape from war zones or polluted areas posing threat for health. Quite seldom but still people also change their places of living just because they need a change, nothing more nor less.

2. Do most people in your country live in a flat or a house?

Well, the majority of people live in flats 'cause it usually involves less costs and provides more security as there are a lot of people around. What is more, it is more comfortable to live in flats because they are usually located in the city. so it doesn't take too much time to get to the city centre and there are no problems with shopping for basic essentials because of availability of convenience stores. One more factor which attracts people to living in flats is the fact that flats already have all necessary facilities such as power and water backup, uninterrupted supply of cooking gas and so on. Though there are also quite people in my country opting for living in houses mainly because houses usually have more living as well as outside space and provide people with greater degree of freedom.

3. At what age do people in your country start living independently?

I guess it can happen at any age when people start making enough money to afford to pay for a flat and utilities. Young people usually leave their parents' families in order to learn not only to earn money but also how to manage their own life. set priorities and take challenges. They start living independently to learn more about themselves, be able to make decisions by themselves and take responsibility for these decisions. Though, there are also young people who leave their parents' apartment in order to get the ultimate freedom to wind down and relax and forget about the pressure of having constant family duties to fulfill.

4. Do people in your country mostly buy their own home or do they rent their home?

Well, I guess both. Those who have enough money mostly buy accommodation 'cause it's a kind of investment in their future. What is more, home ownership is something that. on the one hand. gives them and their families a sense of stability and security and, on the other hand, provides with freedom to do whatever they want both inside and outside dispensing them with the necessity of having humiliating, awkward and frustrating relationships with landlords. <--key-pagebreak-->

Oh yeah, it is. I guess it is, first of all, important because it plays the key role in the building's functionality. I mean a good design can make even a really small flat or house functional and cosy. I also think that being surrounded by comfort and beauty unequivocally makes our daily experiences better and increases our satisfaction not only short but also long term making us productive and happy. So, no doubt, home design is of great importance.

6. What makes a location suitable for old people to live?

Oh, access to good health care, first of all. In some cases climate if there are some pressure problems, for instance. I would also add proximity to family and friends in order to keep in touch and not feel lonely. 7. What makes a location suitable for young people to live?

Well, I guess affordability, first of all. I mean housing expenses, the prices for consumable goods, the price of petrol if the young have cars and the price of utility services and taxes. Next, education system and employment opportunities if they are career oriented and have kids of school age, And, of course, accessibility, appearance and amenities of the neighbourhood. 8. In what ways can buildings be more 'environmentally friendly’?

Well, in order to make existing buildings more 'environmentally friendly' we, first of all, need to turn off any lights or appliances when we don't use them. buy only recyclable containers, reuse plastics for food storage and eliminate the extensive use of the television or the Internet. We also need to try to eliminate the products that have a negative impact on the environment, choose energy efficient appliances for homes and use eco-friendly lighting. If people are only starting to build a house and want to make it environmentally friendly, I guess they should think about using sustainable building materials and insulation, installing solar panels and programmable thermostat as well as try reusing old materials such as wood floors, doors and windows. I guess it’s the main stuff they have to do.

Oh, plenty of stuff, actually. They try to stay active as long as possible. The elderly does morning exercises on a regular basis, choose the stairs over the elevator, walk a lot. do garden work and play with their grandchildren. All these actions make them move a lot and train their muscles in everyday routine. Some old people think it's not enough and add doing functional fitness exercises to improve different types of movements necessary for daily life. They train bend-and-lift movements to be able to squat down to lift a shopping bag of groceries from the floor, single-leg movement for climbing and descending stairs, pushing movements for lifting the torso from a side-living position, pulling movements for being able to pull the car door and rotational movements to be able to reach across the body. The most active old people jog, swim and cycle as well.

2. How are the Olympic players trained in your country? Do they usually start training when they are born?

Well, I don't think that training for the games starts when the Olympic players are born, but what I am sure of, it starts many years before the event and demands a lot of efforts. I think that players in my country are trained more or less the same way as in the rest of the world, and it seems to me they devote huge amounts of time to physical training. They also work extensive sports psychologists to mentally for the event, eat properly and sleep tor 8-10 hours a day.

3. Why does somebody dislike to watch the Olympic Games?

Well, I think on a large scale because of the commercialization of the Games and the fact that the Olympics are no longer a sporting contest but a contest of sponsors. Or, maybe, because people don't have that much time to watch al the sports and games, especially if there are only a few sports at the Olympics they care about. Oh, well, there can be one more reason for this, I think, the fact that their country doesn't participate in the contest, which makes watching it senseless.

4. Why do young people do less sports than their parents? Well, I guess, first of all, because young people unlike their parents are not aware of health benefits and psychological bonuses sport can bring them. It can also be so because the young are very busy_ these days. which leads to the fact that exercise can sometimes be the last thing on their To Do list with a schedule filled with different classes and after-school activities. I guess, these are the main reasons.

Oh, I guess, first of all, hard-working and active people who need to dispel stress and bring about a blissful state of calm as well as those who love the tranquil and serene seaside ambience together with laid back lifestyle of small beach towns. 2. What other activities can people do in and near the sea?

Well, the possibilities are endless. I guess everything depends on whether a person feels exhausted or energetic, and whether they like active or passive pastimes. For example, those people who don't want to run and jump may simply sunbathe, walk along the shoreline, smelling the sea breeze, listening to seagulls and collecting shells. They can also try taking a boat trip or floating on a raft. Those who can't doing nothing may play volleyball or Frisbee on the beach or go swimming, diving, snorkeling, windsurfing or fly boarding in the water. I am more sure that everyone can find something to their liking by the sea.

Well, I wouldn't say there is a huge difference in activities which younger and older generations opt for while having a rest beside the sea 'cause age isn't an obstacle to, let's say, swimming, snorkeling or even canoeing to say nothing of sunbathing, walking along the shoreline or playing beach volleyball. The only thing the elderly avoid on the beach unlike the young is extreme water like fly boarding and jet skiing. Nothing more, to my mind.

4. Do old people enjoy spending time near the sea?

I guess they do, as rest beside the sea is always calming and refreshing, which most elderly people like and need. What is more, it has plenty of therapeutic properties. I guess because sea rest is great for both physical and mental health, and also because there are ample recreational activities at any seaside resort. Re the sea is so sought-after in my country because there are ample recreational activities at any seaside resort. Rest near the sea is so sought-after in my country because it contributes to people's overall health, boosts the immune system, treats emotional disorders, relaxes muscles and nerves and induces calmness. It helps people completely rejuvenate the mind and body making them alert and active and letting them feel relaxed and energised. So, yeah, all my compatriots try to get to the seaside at least for a short period of time.

6. What are the advantages and disadvantages of spending time near the sea?

Oh, I am a bit confused as I don't see any cons of having a rest by the sea except for its cost. To my mind, spending time near the sea has only pros as it promotes physical, psychological and emotional wellbeing. It is calming and refreshing the one hand, and can be active and fun, on the other hand. One way or another it lets people feel relaxed and energised, and, as a result, makes them happy it's definitely beneficial in terms of improved health and life satisfaction.

Well, I guess it depends on people. Some of them assess the success of others by looking at how much money they have or what they have achieved. Others do it by looking at who they are surrounded by or what they feel about who they are. Oh, and, of course, it's essential to find studying method that suits their learning style in order to get excited about studying process and challenge themselves as much as possible. All these actions will definitely lead to getting stellar grades and achieving

4. Which do you think is more important, academic success or success in more practical, everyday skills?

Well, both, for sure. It's impossible to be successful without academic success as theoretical knowledge is of primary importance when it comes to having stable employment and earning higher salaries. What is more, it lets people be less dependent on social assistance and more active as citizens and charitable volunteers. But practical, everyday skills, in their turn, help people get a deeper understanding of a concept through the act of doing and personal experience which lets them meet the challenges everyday life and recognize the impact of their actions. So, no doubt, both types of success are essential.

So, yeah, it definitely can change our society. I would even say it can do it both positively and negatively.

4. Which area of science is the most important in the last one hundred years?

Well, I would highlight medicine because advances in this sphere have touched the lives of nearly every person on the planet helping to save their own lives or the lives of people they have loved. I think I should mention such medical breakthroughs of the century as the discovery of penicillin and DNA which carries the genetic information that makes us what we are. Some more breakthroughs that are worth our attention are blood transfusions, artificial hearts and heart transplants and tube babies. Considering the progress that has been made in medicine in the last century we should also recall the prevention of nutritional deficiencies and successful treatments for one deadly infections. Oh, no. I don't think that a sense of humour depends on gender. To my mind, it is highly individualized and varies from person to person. It's most likely that a sense of humour can be an indicator of emotional intelligence. In many cases the environment and experiences are specific to an individual. To sum up, I don't think that there are any gender differences in what people find funny.

3. What do you think are the differences between seeing comedy on TV and reading funny materials in a book?

Well, actually both of them make people laugh, take away stress and sadness and make people feel good and happy. I think that the only difference between watching comedies and reading something funny in books is that books require more use of imagination allowing and inviting the readers to create their own personalized mental images of the stories they are immersed in while comedies present the images without the need for audiences to exert their imagination. Oh, and one more thing that differs books from funny films is that watching comedies is usually seen as a group activity while reading is sow people opt for when they are alone.

4. What do you think are the benefits of laughter?

Oh, there are plenty of them, to my mind. First of all, laughter binds people together and, as a result, increases happiness and intimacy. It boosts the energy and adds joy and zest to life. It also eases anxiety and fear. enhances resilience and helps defuse conflict. What is more, laughter has huge health benefits as it triggers healthy physical changes in the body, strengthens the immune system, diminishes pain and just promotes an overall sense of well-being.

雅思口语话题Part3范文:leisure facility (cinema. sports center) you like to go

Describe a leisure facility (cinema. sports center) you like to go in your hometown

1. What are some examples of ways that people use to relax?

Oh, I guess different people opt for different relaxation methods. Some people give preference to doing yoga. meditating and stretching to relieve muscle tension. Others choose pampering themselves with a health spa, beauty treatment or a good massage. There are also people who just need to meet friends or spend time with beloved ones to relax. Active people opt for such rest as working out in the gym, dancing, or going shopping. I can also name such nice ways to relax as taking a bath cuddling with a pet, getting fresh air and listening to favourite music.

2. Some people say that, on average, there is more stress in people's lives today than in the past. Do you agree?

Some people say that, on average, there is more stress in people's lives today than in the past. Do you agree? Well, I guess yes. Nowadays people devote too much time to work as they have too much responsibility and too many commitments. People want to achieve so many things that they just don't have enough time to do everything in advance and have to put extra pressure on themselves procrastinating things and doing last minute work, which is extremely stressful. What is more, these days people have too many expectations from everything and everyone they encounter and too many options to choose from, which is also not great as making the right choice takes a lot of energy and time. All these things add stress to people’s lives and make them more stressed in comparison with previous generations.

3. Is the environment important for people to get relaxed?

I am more than sure it is. I just can't imagine how a person can relax when there are such environmental factors as excessive noise, busy traffic, uncomfortable living space, bad weather or natural disasters, problems with roommates or neighbours. Though I know what things can help people get relaxed fast. These are pictures of beloved people and favourite places on the walls, pleasant music, candles all around, greenery and colourful fishes in a fish bowl. So, yes, the environment is really important.

4. How can companies provide their employees with an opportunity to relax?

Well, I think the first thing companies can do is create breakrooms, I mean special spaces with comfortable furniture, various magazines and books to read or just look through, relaxing background music, different games giving employees a chance to unwind and engage in an activity and a lot of free coffee with all the extras such as sugar, cream, sweets and stuff like that. What else? Of course, at least 1-hour lunch breaks and not too many deadlines.

5. What is the difference in the way people spend their free time nowadays and 20 or 30 years ago?

Well, I think 2 or 3 decades ago people spent most of their time outdoors either playing sport or working in the garden. They also did a lot of household chores, received quests and paid visits to relatives, friends and neighbours. As far as nowadays are concerned, people spend most of their spare time surfing the net, playing computer games a communicating with others in social networks. They also take a lot of extra classes, exercise, devote time to hobbies and travel around their countries and abroad.

6. What do people in your country do in their spare time?

Oh, nowadays a lot of people living in my country exercise after work and at weekends. I guess it's because more and more people understand that physical exercise is important for both physical and mental health as it gives a release after a day or week of stress. Many people devote quite a lot of their free time to reading and taking extra classes never stopping learning new aspects of the world around them. They also spend plenty of time on their hobbies which are a kind of a breath of fresh air that keeps them grounded and in some cases even offers networking opportunities. And of course, spend time with family and friends, surf the net, entertain and travel as much as they can afford.

7. In general, who do you think has more leisure time, men or women?

Well, I wouldn't say that there are any gender differences in what concerns leisure time that's why, to my mind, both men and women can have either enough or not enough time for rest depending on their lifestyle and priorities. Though if to consider families where both mothers and fathers work, it's obviously dads who have more leisure time 'cause they work as much as moms but spend much less time on bringing up children and household work.

8. What do young people do in their free time?

Oh, I guess it depends on young people, their likes and dislikes as well as interests and hobbies. I think a lot of them spend plenty of their spare time with friends either attending youth clubs, taking extra classes or just window shopping in central malls. In warm seasons the young spend time in the parks cycling, skate boarding and playing different sports. In evenings they visit cinemas, concerts and discos or spend time in pubs having a couple of glass of beer and a good laugh. It’s also quite popular among youth to travel around the country and abroad. 9. Do you think that people today have more leisure time than people in the past? Definitely, no, to my regret. The world is changing too fast and people have to work more and never stop learning something new to keep up with its pace. Life is getting more and more competitive and in order to survive and be successful people sacrifice a part of their leisure time spending it on developing new skills and fulfilling their potential. As a result, they work unlimited hours in contrast with people in the past who worked from 9am till 6pm spending the rest of their time on family and relaxation.

Describe an invention that changed the world

Describe an invention that changed the world

1. What do you think have been some of the most important inventions in the past 100 years or so?

Oh, I have no doubt that the inventions that have significantly improved people's lives in the past century are a computer, a smartphone and the Internet. All of them have greatly simplified all spheres of human life and brought about a lot of new opportunities. For example, thanks to computers people have managed to speed up business operations, organize all of their information in a very accessible manner and become more efficient and productive saving their valuable time in the office. The Internet has provided people with a chance to have instant communication with anyone in the world, get instant access to an endless supply of knowledge and entertainment and the ability to work from home or have a virtual office. A smartphone has united all the devices needed for daily business and pleasure such as a GPS receiver and a camera as well as provided people with Internet access wherever there is cellular coverage letting them tackle different issues on the go. Frankly speaking, I even can't imagine present-day life without these inventions.

2. Why do you think some inventions have not been successful in the marketplace?

Oh, I guess there can be a variety of explanations for this. For example, a failure to understand customer needs or targeting the wrong market. I mean launching some products or services with the same characteristics as the ones already used by customers and failing to offer any reasons for customers to switch. I can also name incorrect pricing as the reason for fiasco in the marketplace, oh, and a lack of internet capabilities which will 100% lead to hindrances in satisfying end-users.

3. Do you think it's good that new inventions are appearing so often?

Why not? I guess it's not bad for sure. New inventions make our life easier, more interesting and more comfortable, help us accomplish specific tasks. save our time and money and always try to meet our growing needs. Sometimes things that were invented yesterday fall into oblivion today because of changes happening in our lifestyle and work processes, so frequent appearance of inventions is a necessity which helps us get adapted to changes happening in our way of life. All in all, the main goal invention is to simplify our life in different ways, which proves their need and the fact that their frequent appearance is good.

4. Do you think there will be any negative effects resulting from future technology?

Well, unfortunately, there are always two sides of the same coin, and future technology is not an exception. The main thing is not to let the negative outcomes outweigh the positive ones as it will lead to a real disaster. All the rest is in human hands, to my mind. So, what's the worst that could happen resulting from future technology? Well, human unemployment may increase as robots may substitute for humans in manufacturing and production. I also guess future inventions may exacerbate environmental problems and even wipe out a huge portion human race which can happen, let in case of developing super-germs with a help of genetic engineering. And the last risk factor that comes to my mind alterations in cognitive and social development in cognitive and social development of future generations with a risk of becoming increasingly detached from nature and society and enjoying a solitary life.

You should say

Who this person was

How you knew this person

What impressed you about this person

And explain why you wanted to be similar to this person

Over my teenage years, I always want to be a good leader. I think the stuff a leader should be made of is a high sense of collaboration, a stable and sound personality and the spirit of sacrifice. If I take these 3 properties into consideration, I think there’s only one person need meet this requirement, his name is José Mourinho, one of the best soccer coaches ever. He first masterpiece in the soccer arena was back in , he led FC Porto, a team which is made of promising young minors to the summit of Euro Champion, which is called “the mission impossible” by the fans and soccer world. Mourinho started his career as a translator for the most famous soccer club FC Barcelona. After years of following the team, he learnt a lot about soccer and the mechanism of how to run a football team and how to be a brilliant coach. It’s really hard to believe that a man with such a humble birth could deliver so many miracles to the soccer arena, from 2003,he brought his career to a brand-new stage, leading FC Porto,FC Chelsea, Inter Millano and Real Madrid to the top of the league and achieve 2 times of Euro Champions during the years. Such great success in his coaching career is one of the kind, despite he wasn’t served for professional soccer in his preliminary career stage but an outsider, his later on boost in coaching was even more astonishing.

I first get to know José Mourinho was in year , when he was the coach of FC Chelsea, that year Chelsea was just a second class club in the premier league but after he’s on the coach, everything’s changed, they started the season with an irresistible momentum and took hold of the rest of the competitors. Finally they embraced the champion of the league.

I think the most thing that he impressed he was his way of leading his group When the team fell, he always attribute the failure to his own reason but not anyone of the team to fault. When the team rose up and succeed, his never take it as his own merit but act as if there’s nothing to do with him but only his boys. Moreover, when someone come up and accused his teammates, he will try whatever he can to protect and defend him. All of these aspects are what I think valuable properties of a great leader.

The reason why I want to be similar to him is because I always want to lead a group of people to achieve the common goal of us. In the school, I was also the kind of guy that want others follow my idea and carry out thing good together. But you know, everyone in a team need to be motivated and encouraged by the leader. Such quality and inter-personal skills need a long time to build up. But through learning the way Mourinho leading his team. I don’t think it’s that hard anymore. I’d like to apply his way of being a responsible leader to my life too.

1. What kinds of people do children in China want to be similar to when they grow up?

Most children in China want to be similar to their parents. Parents are the people who are most involved in a child’s life, thus he or she wants to be most like them. Also children always think that their parents are the greatest people in the world. They often brag about their parents’ achievements to their friends. I once read a psychology book;it said that you can always see people from three different aspects, as a child, as a sophisticated adult, or as their parents. I believe this idea has a lot of significance in a person’s character.

2. Do you think it is good for children and young people to use entertainment stars as role models?

No, I do not think it is good for children and young people to use entertainment stars as role models. One reason is that many young people get depressed, because they cannot measure up to the impossible standards that the entertainment industry sets. Another reason is that many celebrities live very immoral lives. Many celebrities abuse alcohol and drugs, and many are in constant troubles with the law. Basically, the majority of entertainment stars are not fit to serve as role models for young people today.

3. Why do some companies advertise products by using famous people?

Some companies use famous people to advertise their products, because many people aspire to be famous or at least respect famous people’s opinions. It is also a well-known fact that most famous people are also very wealthy. So, if people see that someone famous using a certain product, they get the impression that it is a quality product. Another reason is that famous people are usually attractive. Having an attractive person in your advertisement draws in people’s attention, and will keep people’s attention longer than unattractive person.

4. Do you think this is good?

It is good for the company that is trying to sell the product, because it gets their product some recognition. So when consumers go to buy something at the store this advertisement will be in their mind. As a result it can increase their sales. It is good for the economy because people are spending money on these products and cash is continuing to exchange hands. Production and transportation continue, thus, creating jobs for the common man and lowering unemployment.

因为我比较会描述建筑和艺术相关的,于是我说我喜欢花园里有特别的architecture style, 例如Renaissance (文艺复兴)时期的,还有别致的stone road,许多available facilities like swimming pools,我喜欢在这个花园里have a picnic,take photos and vedios by my digital camera等等。

Firstly:

Secondly:

I don't know, but my brother thinks that .....(我不知道,但我的兄弟认为。。。)

I don't know, but my father thinks that .....(我不知道,但我的爸爸认为。。。)

I don't know, but my friends think that .....(我不知道,但我的朋友们认为。。。)

你可以说:i'm sorry, do you want me to talk about __X?

I think that ....

I figure that ....

而figure却是informal(不正式的),而且还是very informal(非常不正式的)。

应该说:“i prefer like to...”,不应该说:“i more like to...”

“我不擅长于...” 应该说:“i am not be good at...”,不要说:“i am not good for...”

“....是如此简单” 应该说:“It's so easy for ...”,不要说:“.... is so easy”

Lastly:

To sum up:

1. What leisure activities are popular in China?

2. What leisure activity do young people like?

3. Do leisure activities have to be educational?

4. Do men and women like different leisure activities?

范文:

1. What leisure activities are popular in China?

Well, in China, men and women relax in different ways. For most men, playing poker or chess witha couple of friends on the weekend is a fun way to pass time. And as far as I know, many men alsogather up to drink beers after work. Well, for girls though, we like to meet up for some yummystreet snacks or go shopping together. Older women enjoy square dancing after dinner. But havingsaid that, most young people, girls and boys, also hit leisure spots like the KTV to enjoythemselves. So yeah, these are common activities that we do in spare time.

2. What leisure activity do young people like?

Ah, as I just mentioned, the young generation loves to hang out in the KTV to sing and drinktogether. Apart from that, it’s trendy among young people to go backpacking. Yeah, well, we thinkit’s cool to be a backpacker, and crash in a backpacker’s hotel seems an attractive option for usto meet new people, from different parts of the world. I myself have done that a few times. Mylatest trip was to Thailand. It was so much fun! However, there are also some young people whoprefer to stay at home doing some quiet activities, like surfing online, or chatting and makingconnections on social apps.

3. Do leisure activities have to be educational?

Not necessarily, I’d say. I mean, leisure activities are supposed to help people wind down. Youknow, to relieve people from the hectic or even stressful life for a bit. So I don’t see the point tomaking them educational. There are certain activities that are indeed educational though, such assports activities which can teach people about cooperation and team spirit. And I do think it’s agood idea to engage children in such activities. So they could learn something meaningful anduseful, while they enjoy themselves. However, that doesn’t mean all leisure activities should beeducational.

4. Do men and women like different leisure activities?

Yeah, yeah, definitely. Men generally prefer more active activities, such as basketball or football. Iguess it’s because being engaged in those activities, they could not only bond with their mates, but also to build their muscles. You know, one stone, two birds! Besides, many men, teenagers oradults, enjoy playing computer games. Well, I suppose most girls wouldn’t think it’s fun to sit infront of a screen all day long. Girls generally would go for activities like Yoga to shape their body,or hang out in shopping centres. Yeah, do some girl things, you know.

题目:

1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of taking photos with smart-phones?

2. Do you think photographers are artists?

3. What are the benefits of learning painting for children?

4. Can anyone become a famous artist through hard work?

范文:

1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of taking photos with smart-phones?

Indeed smart-phones have some merits when taking photos. You see, it is convenient. A phone isso portable that you can take it with you at about all times. So you can take a picture with itanytime you want. Plus, compared to a professional camera, a smart-phone is relatively cheap. Most people can afford using it to take photos. However, on the downside of it, mobile phonesoften have low pixel. It’s hard to get high-quality photos on a mobile phone. So if you demand thephoto quality, maybe go with the professional camera.

2. Do you think photographers are artists?

Yes, why not? Photography itself is a form of art. It takes some knowledge of the aesthetics totrain oneself to grasp the beautiful moment at the perfect time. And you do also need photographytechniques, like taking the right shooting angle, using the right mode, and looking for the suitablescene. The whole process is not an easy task. I imagine it would take quite a bit of time and effortto finally come out with photos of desirable effects. Given the hard work that a real photographerhas to take on, I think it’s fair to say that they equal to any other artists in our society.

3. What are the benefits of learning painting for children?

Children are natural painters. I mean, for children, painting is about the most common way toexpress themselves. If they are encouraged to paint, basically they are given the opportunity todevelop and nourish their imagination. In the long run, this will do great good to their mentaldevelopment. Not only that, painting can help children concentrate. Children are active, oh, actuallysome children are too active that they can’t even sit down for five minutes. But painting requiresthem to focus and be quiet. When they are immersed in painting, they will naturally develop theirconcentration skills.

4. Can anyone become a famous artist through hard work?

Well,to be an artist certainly requires a tremendous amount of hard work. Only if you arededicated to what you do can you achieve the best results, isn’t it so? But that being said, to be afamous artist like Van Gogh does demand natural gifts. You can’t imagine a painting like TheStarry Night came only from hard work, can you? I mean, a painting like that is something genius. It takes inspiration. I’m afraid that’s not something that a person like you and I can sit down toaccomplish. So can we become a well-known artist through hard work? Well, it’s possible, but notprobable.

1. Why should we keep parks clean?

2. Why is it necessary to have parks?

3. Why is walking on grass forbidden?

范文:

1. Why should we keep parks clean?

Well, parks are public avenues that hold many people. They are also leisure places where peoplewant to spend quality time with their friends and family. So of course, parks should be cleanedregularly. Actually, the council usually have janitors on duty every day in the park. Apart from that, people are now aware of the importance of keeping parks clean, so they don’t throw rubbisheverywhere. The government has also set up many rubbish bins in the park to help keep the parkclean and tidy. Yeah, I think that’s the main reason why we need to keep the park clean.

2. Why is it necessary to have parks?

Well, as I said, parks are public leisure spots in the city where citizens can relax. You know howbusy life in the city can get. I think we really could use a place to enjoy ourselves, you know, to getaway from the bustling urban life for a while. Besides, parks offer a patch of green to people. There are often artificial lakes, artificial mountains, and gardens in the park. When we live in a citythat is filled with skyscrapers, asphalt roads, and bustling people, it’s important that we also get achance to be close to nature. I guess that’s why we need parks in the city.

3. Why is walking on grass forbidden?

Yeah, well, even kids know that we should not walk on the grass today. Essentially, it’s becausewalking on the grass will hurt the grass, of course. And we need that greenness that the grass canoffer. We can’t afford losing it. The other thing is that, grass is public property nowadays. If wetrash the grass, then we are technically trashing the public property. I suppose that is consideredrude behavior in most countries. So yeah, we were all taught to protect grass since the day wewent to school.

1. What’s the difference between teachers nowadays and those in the past?

2. What’s the difference between being taught by teachers and being taught by AI?

3. What’s the difference between private schools and public schools?

4. What’s the difference between international schools and other schools?

范文:

1. What’s the difference between teachers nowadays and those in the past?

I think in today’s world, a teachers’ job has become much more difficult. That’s mainly becausemany children today are spoiled at home. Teachers must basically provide supervision as well ascare 24/7. Take my mother as an example, she is a middle school teacher. She worries about herstudents all the time, and her phone is available for her students at all times. Besides, she keeps intouch with all the parents, just in case of emergencies. But when she was a student herself, herteachers were only responsible for teaching and her parents had never even met her teachers.

2. What’s the difference between being taught by teachers and being taught by AI?

That’d be quite different, I imagine. As a person, we ought to interact with another human beingwhen it comes to education. Simply because an experienced human being can show us how tobehave according to the social code. Therefore children will grow up making their own social netsmore easily. We are social animals after all. However, if we leave children to the AI, they willprobably only have access to knowledge. Yet a successful human being needs much more thanjust knowledge. So yeah, in the education system, I think AI should only be complementary toteachers.

3. What’s the difference between private schools and public schools?

Ah, firstly, private schools are expensive. As far as I know, in many countries, public schools arefree. The government pays for children’s education. However, if you send your children to a privateschool, the tuition alone would cost a fortune, let alone other expenses, such as the extra fees forputting your children on a swimming team for training, etc. But having said that, we can’t deny thatmost private schools do provide better facilities, as well as more qualified faculty members. Yeah, well, most private schools have high criteria when it comes to hiring teachers.

4. What’s the difference between international schools and other schools?

I think both the international schools and other public schools have their own positive side. Publicschools might have seemed unqualified for some people, but they are helpful for families with alower income, because international schools are too expensive for them to afford. On the otherhand, for international schools, their educational concept is different. Their students don’t need tostudy every detail by-heart and memorize it. They will be able to sit for exams very well even ifthey only understand the idea of the studies. International schools put more efforts into trainingtheir leadership and way of thinking, while in the public schools, children learn the rudimentaryknowledge, and enter the next level of education by studying hard.

Describe something you’ve always wanted to do but have not done yet

1. In general, do you think planning is important?

Oh, definitely it is. Planning makes our life more predictable and, as a result, less stressful. It gives us the right direction, motivates us and keeps us disciplined. It allows focus and personal energy direction preventing us from taking many unnecessary, unfocused and inefficient steps, ensuring that we are staying on track with our goals. It also aids in organising our day, week, month and year and helps us manage our time. I can also say that planning increases our efficiency and helps produce quality work. So, no doubt of primary importance.

2. Do you think people should make highly detailed plans or just general plans?

Well, I would say it depends on personality characteristics. If people enjoy the spontaneity of life and like to shake up their routine, they should opt for making general plans 'cause this type of plans builds in a high degree of flexibility and doesn't restrict people's freedom. But if people like to make sure they know where they are going and why they are doing something before getting started, I guess, they should focus on making highly detailed plans 'cause plans set the direction and establish priorities providing clarity on what people should be working on at any given t: and enabling them to make decisions deliberately, methodically and strategically.

3. What type of people likes to make plans?

Oh, I think that these are, first of all, people who like to make sure they know where they are going and why they are doing something before getting started. They prefer when things progress clearly in stages. They feel comfortable when they know that they are moving in the right direction and keep everything under control. Such people are focused, deliberate and thoughtful. Oh, and they are usually avid note-takers, which explains their love to making plans.

4. Why do you think some people don't like making plans?

Well, I guess that one of the reasons for this is the fact that making plans is time-consuming and stressful for people. What is more, plans restrict people in many ways making them feel the pressure of being in charge of unexpected twists, complexities and pitfalls, which can discourage people from planning. I also guess that some people dislike planning just because they like to shake up their routine going where the day takes them. They like the freedom to simply look forward to outcome and don't want to get disappointed if something goes wrong along the way.

5. Do you think it's important for a person to have a career plan?

Oh, no doubt it is. A career plan is a kind of a road-map which will help a person get wherever they would like to go helping them define their future career path as well as giving them the confidence they need to succeed. What is more, it is an essential part of a person's personal growth and development 'cause it, first, makes people set goals and then pushes them to gain new skills to strive for those goals. One more reason why it is vital to have a career plan is because it helps people take responsibility for their weaknesses, which increases their chances of success and, as a result keeps them from getting stuck in a rut.

6. How do most people plan their future education and their future career?

Well, I think one of the most important factors people consider while choosing their education and career is their interests and passions because work takes up about one-third of human life and if people spend so much time on doing what they don't like, it will be hard for them to feel happy. I also guess that while choosing future education and career people pay attention to their natural aptitudes and skills because it makes no sense to choose some area they are really bad at. It's also quit, common among people to consider such factors as the salary and availability jobs 'cause any job must pay the t and give a chance to grow. I guess these are the most important factors to consider.

7. Do you think it's important for young people to get advice from their parents when planning a career?

Oh, for sure it is, especially if this advice remains impartial. Parents know their children best. I mean their innate talents and skills, likes and dislikes, and can help them make informed decisions about their future. But I will repeat the key word here is help, that is give children the freedom and space to live their own life but not make decisions instead of kids unintentionally putting pressure on them to realize somebody's unfulfilled ambitions.

雅思口语话题Part3范文: a product you bought which made you very happy

Describe a product you bought which made you very happy

1. Is service better in large shops or in small shops?

Oh, no doubt, in small ones as they have a greater emphasis on customer service than large ones. They create a great shopping environment with quality products, outstanding customer service and advice from friendly expert staff. Shoppers just can't resist this personal attention and staff's commitment to service. What is more, customers can be sure that in difficult situations they will get sincere empathy from staff who will do their best to resolve complaints in their favour. As far as large shops are concerned, their impersonal service standard operating procedures an indifferent calmness often repel bi more and more turning them to smaller stores which have, to my mind, become the leaders of consumers' preferences, first of all, for their excellent personal service.

2. What do people do when they get bad service?

Well, I guess they, first of all, voice their complaints trying to get some kind of solution or compensation from the company. If the company wholly fixes the situation, I guess, it only strengthens customer loyalty, and the shoppers don't take any other actions. But if the company ignores or dismisses the complaints, I am more than sure that dissatisfied customers will not willingly do business with this company again. What is more, they will spread news of bad customer service sharing their points with as many people as possible, which might negatively influence the company's business.

3. How can a company maintain the quality of the service that it gives to the public?

Oh, I think it could be done by actively reaching out to customers and trying to gather their feedback on service quality, and suggested areas of improvement. It's very important for companies to identify common issues and demands of customers and customize their service offerings. It's also essential to spend generously on training personnel to adequately handle customer queries and complaints. In cases when a customer has already complained about poor service quality, it's important for businesses to take steps to redeem the situation. All these actions will, no doubt, help the companies maintain the quality of their service.

4. What's an example of a difficult situation involving the public that an employee might need to deal with?

Well, to my mind, the most common example of such a difficult situation is broken promises. I am more than sure that any broken promise will compound a complaint and lead to distrust, which will complicate a matter and make it more difficult to deal with it. One more tough situation an employee might need to handle is low quality of products or services or defective products. If the company promised goods of high quality but delivered low-quality products, customers will share this bad experience publicly and most likely complain ii social media networks, which again will complicate solving the conflict. I think there might also be troubles with complaints about hidden information and costs, not giving full product explanations and even not willing to admit a mistake.

5. Do you think it's important for a company to provide after-sales service?

Well, definitely yes 'cause by providing clients with after sales service companies, first of all, get truly satisfied customers and, as a result, referrals, repeated orders and endorsement, which is really important for every business. What is more, they get positive feedback about their products and services, not only build customer loyalty and retain existing customers, but also attract new ones. I can also add that after sales service helps businesses capture a market share, build trust and credibility and gain a good reputation. So, yeah, it's really important.

Describe a good news heard from other people

1. How do people share good news?

Oh, they do it in various ways. The most common one is to tell family and friends about it in real life interactions, for example, over coffee or dinner, or, if they waited for this news for a long time, at the party organized precisely for informing the closest people about the news and celebrating the Big Day together. Seeing faces of the loved ones at the moment they hear good news will prolong the happiness and joy of the hosts. There are also easier ways to break the news to others such as posting it in social media, for example. Facebook, Twitter or Google Plus, telling about it in the blog or just sending a message note or an e-mail to the people they want to share this particular piece of news with. Doing so, the informers will reach a much larger audience, but get far positive emotions because the feedback won’t exhilarate them as much as face-to-face communication.

2. How does modern technology affect the delivery of news?

Well, to my mind, hugely. Modern technology has already changed and still keeps changing the tools newsrooms use to gather and present the news as well as the wav people get it. What I mean is that state-of-the-art technology lets people get news much faster than they used to, have access to various online sources of information and get updated info round the clock without having to wait for the following day's newspaper or newscast. What is more, a lot of time and money is saved both on delivering getting news thanks to technology

3. When do people share good news?

Oh, I guess, people share good news, first of all, when emotions are running high and they want the world to know how happy they are and want to spread their happiness, joy and positive experiences around. Also, this happens when people want to thank those who believed in them because sometimes it's so important to be pushed and feel supported as usually so many dreams die without approval and belief of significant people. Sometimes people share good news to give hope to people who strive for the same but either doubt or don’t believe it can be achieved. And, of course, there are also cases when people break good news to others just because they want to boast or make somebody jealous of their achievements.
